Liverpool are back under the Anfield light on a Champions League night, and the game for tonight is against Bologna, an Italian team.
Liverpool started the game with very good high-pressing intensity. They looked ruthless in attack but still conceded a goal in the 9th minute. The goodness, though, was that the goal was ruled out for offside.
We bounced back immediately after that and scored a delightful goal in the 11th minute of the game. That goal was from Macca who has been on a very decent run this season. This was his first goal of the season. A well-deserved one.
Liverpool immediately doubled the lead in the 15th minute. Darwizzy was at the end of the goal. However, the offside rule worked against us this time around. The goal was canceled and Liverpool continued to create a couple of sumptuous chances.
Bologna also had their moments in the first half of the game. They created a bunch of really decent chances and were just unlucky to play the whole first half without getting a goal.
Second Half...
Liverpool tried to start the second half with the same intensity they used in the first half. However, Bologna didn't make it easy. They explored counterattacks and successfully created a bunch of chances.
Liverpool kept their backline tight and Alisson was quick to pull some saves.
At the hour mark, Slot decided to do Liverpool's first substitution of the game. Darwizzy was taken off and replaced by Jota who has been on a decent run this season. Gakpo and Tsimikas were also subbed into the game.
Mo Salah got his trademark goal in the 75th minute of the game.
Seriously... How many times have we seen Salah scores goals like that?
Haha. Liverpool made it 2 goals with 15 minutes of normal time remaining.
The last 5 minutes of the game was a defensive test for Liverpool. They were under a lot of pressure, but managed to keep a clean sheet throughout the game.
What a game! What a win!
