MLB Baseball is Back! Opening Day 2021 Did Not Disappoint

So this year I lucked out, because I work remotely and was able to have the games in the background going on all day long into the evening and right before I went to sleep.

The most disappointing thing that happened yesterday was that my favorite team, The New York Mets were not able to play because some of their opponent's tested positive for COVID.

But, we had plenty of baseball!

Living in Central Florida and less than two hours away, I adopted the Tamp Rays as the team I root for outside of the Mets. They got by the Florida Marlins by winning the pitching duel and Meadows belting a home that was the difference in the game. Tampa's starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow was outstanding.

There was a little bit of everything on Opening Day.

There was an extra inning game where the Toronto Blue Jays got by the Yankees at Yankee Stadium.

There was a 14 to 10 run score where the Royals beat the Rangers.

There was snow in Detroit, but they were able to play the whole game and Miguel Cabrera had a great day at the plate and the field.

We saw Ke'Bryan Hayes with a brilliant start to the season and already making the experts look good as he is believed to earn Rookie of the Year honors in 2021.

Also, we saw Nolan Arenado have a great game for his new team the St. Louis Cardinals; which I'm sure has a lot of Cardinals fans giddy.

We saw Bryce Harper, Mike Trout, Buster Posey lead their team to victories.

I mean that is what makes MLB Baseball great. Each game has these stories that is almost poetic. It has always been that way. It may not come with the fast paced excitement of the NBA or the amazing energy that NFL Football brings to the fans. My religion is the NFL. I don't miss a Sunday. The NBA amps us up as the playoffs get closer.

BUT, the poetry of Major League Baseball is a completely different viewing experience.

I'm glad it's back!
