Phillies play clumsy, uninspired ball and lose 6-2 to Milwaukee.

The Phils just felt awkward and sloppy last night. Baserunners screwing up, pitchers falling over playing defense, leaving a ton of baserunners on base. Just didn't click as a team. Ranger Suarez had a meh, fairly poor performance. The bullpen was also pretty bad.

I guess most 6-2 losses are like this. Nobody really did their job all that well. Not completely terrible, but far from average.

Brandon Marsh homered, so that was a positive.

Tonight hopefully will be a different story. If Zack Wheeler wants to raise his Cy Young stock, throwing a gem tonight would be really handy. It would be his sixteenth win and not to mention it would keep the Brewers and Dodgers off their tails for the number one seed in the NL. Last night's loss brought the Brewers to just three games back.

The Dodgers won last night so they are just a game behind the Phillies. The Dodgers face some cupcakes in the Marlins for the next three games so the pressure is certainly on the boys. The Phils face the fairly hittable Frankie Montas tonight.

Game starts in about four hours.

GO PHILS!
