2023 NFL Team Power Rankings: #8 Jacksonville Jaguars

As a Titans fan, I must reluctantly admit the Jags are just barely a top ten team. After a rocky start in 2022, they finished their season on a five game winning, made the playoffs and even won a playoff game. QB Trevor Lawrence had a much improved sophomore season and seems on track to have a massive third season.

The Jags are this high in my rankings mostly based on how strongly they finished and how they're trending overall. They still have plenty to prove in terms of them being legit championship threats, but they're certainly on the right track.

The Jags will be taken much more seriously in 2023 that's for sure. In an effort to keep their foot on the gas and maintain their momentum, they did sign WR Calvin Ridley who has been out of the league for a few seasons, but seems to be back and ready to rock in 2023. Ridley had a 1,000 yard season back in 2020 and was even a Second-Team All-Pro that very season. With a young, improving QB like Trevor Lawrence, there's potential for a new great QB-WR duo in Jacksonville.

Here's former Falcons' QB Matt Ryan speaking on Ridley's skills.

The Jags have a proven, Super Bowl winning coach in Doug Pederson to really put everything together. The Jags need to prove it in terms of being good with a target on their backs, but if they can manage to do so, the Jags may be a new AFC power in an already LOADED AFC.
