El café, un néctar fabuloso/Coffee, a fabulous néctar [es/en]

Hola amigos de la comunidad hive, hoy compartiré con ustedes sobre el consumo del café, una bebida muy popular entre los cubanos. Para muchos cubanos de forma general ingerir este néctar negro es tan sagrado como el té para los ingleses o el mate para los argentinos. Como buen cubano y digno representante de las tradiciones nacionales me gusta mucho el café y cada vez que puedo disfruto mucho beberlo.

Hello friends of the hive community, today I will share with you about the consumption of coffee, a very popular drink among Cubans. For many Cubans in general, drinking this black nectar is as sacred as tea for the English or mate for the Argentines. As a good Cuban and a worthy representative of national traditions, I like coffee very much and whenever I can I enjoy drinking it.

Suelo consumir de una rica taza de café a media mañana en el trabajo, o en casa terminada la jornada laboral. En la provincia donde resido, Holguín, el café se cultiva en las zonas montañosas de los municipios de Sagua de Tánamo y Mayarí. Muchos comerciantes traen el café en grano de estas zonas y son vendidos en la ciudad, lo cual mi padre y yo aprovechamos para comprar el preciado grano.

I usually have a delicious cup of coffee at mid-morning at work or at home at the end of the working day. In the province where I live, Holguín, coffee is grown in the mountainous areas of the municipalities of Sagua de Tánamo and Mayarí. Many merchants bring coffee beans from these areas and sell them in the city, which my father and I take advantage of to buy the precious bean.

Hace unos días atrás mi padre estaba tostando los granos de café, el cual es el primer proceso que se realiza, antes de molerlo. Muchas personas en la zona oriental de Cuba tienen como costumbre tostar el café agregándole azúcar parda y granos de chícharos, para aumentar el café una vez molido y hacer que el líquido salga más negro una vez que se procese. Nosotros felizmente en casa, no tenemos esa costumbre y tostamos el café sin agregarle estos ingredientes, siempre realizando una escogida de los mejores granos antes de tostarlo.

A few days ago my father was roasting the coffee beans, which is the first process that is done before grinding. Many people in the eastern part of Cuba have the custom of roasting coffee by adding brown sugar and pea beans, to increase the coffee once ground and make the liquid come out blacker once it is processed. Happily at home, we do not have this habit and we roast the coffee without adding these ingredients, always making a selection of the best beans before roasting.

Esa tarde, una vez realizado el proceso de tostado de los granos, decidí darme el gusto de tomar un buen café cubano, bien puro, sin mezclas de ningún tipo. Usando una pequeña máquina rusa de moler granos de café, se fueron moliendo todos los granos de café ya tostados, obteniendo como resultado un polvo bien fino. El aroma que desprendía este polvo, era verdaderamente inigualable. Posteriormente colamos el café en una máquina eléctrica adquirida recientemente. El líquido obtenido de la cafetera fue endulzado con miel, dándole un gusto formidable al néctar, pues el mismo tenía un sabor bien fuerte.

That afternoon, once the beans had been roasted, I decided to treat myself to a good Cuban coffee, very pure, without any kind of blends. Using a small Russian machine to grind coffee beans, all the already roasted coffee beans were ground, obtaining as a result a very fine powder. The aroma given off by this powder was truly incomparable. Subsequently we strained the coffee in a recently acquired electric machine. The liquid obtained from the coffee machine was sweetened with honey, giving a formidable taste to the nectar, as it had a very strong flavor.

Amigos, el disfrute de esta bebida, es fabuloso, el consumo de una rica taza de café hace que el cuerpo se anime y hace que la persona que lo consuma pase un día agradable, es por ello que nunca se debe despreciar una taza de café. Espero que les haya gustado el relato. Hasta próxima nos vemos.
