Hace mucho quería hacer esto, pero el tiempo no me ha dejado, pero si no lo hago ahora no voy a poder hacerlo luego. Se viene una etapa en mi vida donde tendré muchísimo menos tiempo, pero esa es una historia para va al final. Hoy quiero dejar plasmado aquí todo lo que hemos avanzado y adonde quiero que esta comunidad se mueva de manera conjunta, entre todos.
Ya tenemos más de un año de vida en Hive como comunidad, pero parece muy poco para todo lo que hemos logrado. Hay muchas personas a las que dar gracias como @eddiespino, @enrique89, @guiltyparties, @theycallmedan, @taskmaster4450, los miembros de nuestra comunidad que cada vez que pueden aportar mucho valor (de los que hablaré en nada) y se quedan muchas personas fuera de la blockchain que han confiado en mí y la comunidad. Así que además de agradecerles, hagamos un pequeño resumen.
I have wanted to do this for a long time, but time has not allowed me to. However, if I don't do it now, I won't be able to do it later. A stage is coming in my life where I will have much less time, but that's a story for later. Today, I want to document everything we have accomplished and where I want this community to move together, as a whole.
We have been a community on Hive for over a year now, but it seems like very little for all that we have achieved. There are many people to thank, such as @eddiespino, @enrique89, @guiltyparties, @theycallmedan, @taskmaster4450, the members of our community who contribute a lot of value whenever they can (I'll talk about them in a moment), and many people outside of the blockchain who have trusted the community and me. So, in addition to thanking them, let's do a little summary.
El camino hasta ahora
En este poco tiempo hemos nacido como comunidad desde un pequeño grupo en Telegram donde me la pasaba hablando de Hive y fue la forma perfecta para comenzar a enseñar a otros cubanos sobre Hive. Hemos realizado tres eventos presenciales con éxito y recientemente asistimos a un evento en Pinar del Rio donde fuimos invitados a hablar sobre Hive y la comunidad. Hemos sido noticia en varios medios de prensa y ejemplo de ellos es un reciente artículo de la agencia IPS donde me entrevistaron. Logramos que Hive fuese aceptada en varios negocios cubanos y hasta en plataformas como @qvapay y Heavenex, pero por si fuera poco han surgido startup alrededor de ello como lo es @hiveremesas que está haciendo un tremendo trabajo y @cubees que lastimosamente dejara de funcionar pronto por la necesidad de dedicarse a otros proyectos.
Hemos realizado muchas cosas que creo realzan el valor de esta comunidad con la campaña de donaciones a Pinar del Rio cuando los afecto el huracán Ian e incluso sé que muchos cubanos enviaron lo que pudieron a Turquía cuando el terremoto que no fue hace mucho. Esto creo dice mucho del valor humano que existe en la comunidad, sin contar como ya ni soy necesario cuando una persona se une a nuestro grupo en Telegram buscando información y ayuda. Me puedo ir mañana y todo queda en buenas manos (tranquilos que no me voy).
Y no voy a seguir porque creo que se haría demasiado largo y no quiero aburrirlos. Si quiero dejar claro que el camino ha sido largo para tan poco tiempo y que ha sido gracias a la ayuda de todos. Pero eso quiere decir que seguimos creciendo y ya toca delegar un poco de trabajo.
The path so far
In this short time, we have grown as a community from a small group on Telegram where I used to talk about Hive, which was the perfect way to start teaching other Cubans about Hive. We have successfully organized three in-person events, and we recently attended an event in Pinar del Rio where we were invited to talk about Hive and the community. We have been featured in several media outlets, and an example of this is a recent article by the IPS news agency where they interviewed me. We managed to get Hive accepted in several Cuban businesses and even on platforms like @qvapay and Heavenex, but to top it off, startups have emerged around it, such as @hiveremesas, which is doing tremendous work, and @cubees, which unfortunately will soon stop functioning due to the need to focus on other projects.
We have done many things that I believe highlight the value of this community, such as the donation campaign to Pinar del Rio when they were affected by Hurricane Ian, and I know that many Cubans sent whatever they could to Turkey when the recent earthquake struck. This says a lot about the human value that exists in the community, not to mention that I am no longer necessary when a person joins our Telegram group looking for information and help. I could leave tomorrow, and everything would be in good hands (don't worry, I'm not leaving).
And I won't go on because I think it would be too long, and I don't want to bore you. I do want to make it clear that the path has been long for such a short time, and it has been thanks to everyone's help. But that means we are still growing, and it is time to delegate some work.
Nuevos miembros del equipo
En ocasiones he dicho que me encantaría que la comunidad pudiera en algún momento crear empleos o llegar al menos beneficiar a quienes aportan su granito de arena de manera voluntaria. Para lograr esto hay ideas en proceso, pero por ahora el voluntariado predomina y me alegra que si existan personas que levanten la mano cuando se necesita algo. Es por ello que quiero agradecer a los nuevos integrantes del equipo de curación de la comunidad: @janetedita, @nanixxx y @crptogeek.
Hasta hace poco era yo solo junto a varias listas de Peakd (gracias a Dios existen) y en ocasiones me desbordaba. Ya llevamos varias semanas trabajando juntos y ha ido de maravilla. Esto ha surgido además por la iniciativa #TopAuthor a la que nos unimos que incluso la idea fue de ellos. Siendo sincero, no creo que solo hubiese tenido el tiempo de hacerlo y mucho menos con la calidad visual que está saliendo, por no mencionar la calidad de las publicaciones, aunque ya eso es también gracias a la calidad de los creadores que tenemos en la comunidad.
No quería dejar pasar por alto el trabajo de @theinfiltred como CM en nuestra cuenta de Instagram que esperamos de frutos, sabemos que es una red social donde podemos crear impacto como en Twitter.
New team members
At times, I have said that I would love for the community to be able to create jobs or at least benefit those who contribute their grain of sand voluntarily. There are ideas in the works to achieve this, but for now, volunteering predominates, and I am happy that there are people who raise their hands when something is needed. That's why I want to thank the new members of the community curation team: @janetedita, @nanixxx, and @cryptogeek.
Until recently, it was just me along with several Peakd lists (thank God they exist), and sometimes I was overwhelmed. We have been working together for several weeks now, and it has been fantastic. This has also arisen from the #TopAuthor initiative we joined, which was their idea. To be honest, I don't think I would have had the time to do it alone, much less with the visual quality that is coming out, not to mention the quality of the posts, although that is also thanks to the quality of the creators we have in the community.
I didn't want to overlook the work of @theinfiltred as CM on our Instagram account, which we hope will bear fruit. We know that it is a social network where we can create an impact, just like on Twitter.
La gran noticia
Algunos ya saben que tengo varios trabajos, hasta hace poco cuatro. Como ya mencioné en una de mis últimas publicaciones, ya no soy fotorreportero de una revista. Pero no cambia el panorama donde tengo muy poco tiempo y más con la noticia que les traigo. No voy a demorárselos más, o si, bueno divago un poco y les digo apenas me salga. Ya en serio, aquí va la noticia: voy a ser papá (Insertar gif de un bebe publicando en Hive).
Pues sí, viene un pequeño Manu en camino y desde ya me está robando mucho tiempo. Ya sé que todavía faltan unos 7 meses, pero el que es cubano sabe cómo está la situación y hay que prepararse lo mejor posible sí o sí, no hay opción. Ir delegando tareas es parte de mi idea de poder tener más tiempo y no solo para dedicarle al pequeño hiver, sino para poder tener más tiempo de realizar otras tareas en la comunidad como los eventos. Es por ello que no he podido planificar del todo el taller que tenemos apalabrado en Pinar. Una gran preocupación que yo tenía era el pago de las ganancias por las delegaciones y ya logré automatizar, así que una preocupación menos.
The big new
Some of you already know that I have several jobs, up until recently, four. As I mentioned in one of my latest posts, I am no longer a photojournalist for a magazine. But that doesn't change the fact that I have very little time, especially with the news I have to share. I won't keep you waiting any longer, or maybe I will, well, I tend to ramble a bit before getting to the point. But seriously, here's the news: I'm going to be a dad (Insert a gif of a baby publishing on Hive).
Yes, a little Manu is on the way, and he is already stealing much of my time. I know there are still about seven months to go, but anyone who is Cuban knows how the situation is, and you have to prepare the best you can, no matter what. Delegating tasks is part of my plan to have more time, not just to dedicate to the little Hiver, but also to have more time to perform other tasks in the community, such as events. That's why I haven't been able to plan the workshop we planned in Pinar completely. One major concern I had was the payment of profits from delegations, but I managed to automate it, so that's one less worry.
Ideas y proyectos a partir de ahora
Desde ya les digo que quizás llegue un momento en el que este lejos de la comunidad, pero estoy gestionando todo para que sea lo menos posible. Quiero agendar desde bien temprano cada evento que tengamos para este año y me estoy enfocando en adelantar todo lo posible cada detalle. Creo que con enseñarle la pizarra de ideas ya tengo (ignoren el mensaje de mi mujer😂), pero lo que más me emociona es poder lograr un HiveCubaCon mejor que el anterior y lograr ser Testigos en algún momento del año, que por ahora solo lo estoy valorando porque eso lleva un determinado tiempo de atención diario.
Ideas and projects from now on
I already tell you that there may come a time when I am away from the community, but I am managing everything so that it is as little as possible. I want to schedule every event we have for this year as early as possible, and I am focusing on advancing every detail as much as possible. I think just showing the ideas board is enough (ignore my wife's message😂), but what excites me the most is being able to achieve a better HiveCubaCon than the previous one and becoming Witnesses at some point during the year, which for now, I am only considering because that requires a certain amount of daily attention.
Hay cosas que no tengo anotadas como la creación de un sitio web para la comunidad porque no creo tener el tiempo de desarrollarla como corresponde. No quisiera que por dedicarle poco tiempo termine demorando mucho o no salga con la calidad que quiero. Lo del proyecto ¨NFT¨, por si les causa duda, estoy seguro que les gustara y que muchas personas querrán ser parte de ello, pero por ahora no diré de que va.
Y ya no me queda mucho que decir, más que alentarlos a unirse al equipo. Son muchas las cosas que podemos hacer y cualquier idea siempre sera bienvenida. De no poder llevarla a cabo, podríamos ayudar a que se haga. Por ejemplo: los eventos o la creación de subcomunidades en otras provincias de Cuba. Ya hay avances para ello en Pinar y puede llevarse a cabo en todas siempre que existan los hivers ahí. Desde nuestra parte tendrán todo el apoyo y siempre los guiaremos en todo. Me alegra saber que hay ideas de esto en Villa Clara que es mi provincia natal y me es más fácil ir por allá. Las vías para contactarme con cualquier idea están creadas. Ahora si ya no digo más que ya ha sido demasiado, creo que fue un buen update de todo y de seguro es la publicación donde más he escrito.
There are things that I haven't written down, such as creating a website for the community because I don't believe I have the time to develop it properly. I wouldn't want to rush it and end up delaying it or not achieving the quality I want. As for the "NFT" project, if you're curious, I'm sure you will like it, and many people will want to be a part of it, but for now, I won't reveal what it's about.
And I don't have much else to say, other than to encourage you to join the team. There are many things we can do, and any idea will always be welcome. If we can't carry it out, we could help make it happen. For example, the events or the creation of sub-communities in other provinces of Cuba. There are already advances for this in Pinar, and it can be carried out in all provinces as long as there are Hivers there. We will provide all the support and guidance needed. I'm glad to know that there are ideas for this in Villa Clara, which is my home province, and it's easier for me to go there. The channels to contact me with any ideas are open. Now, I won't say more as it has already been too much. I think this was a good update on everything, and it's probably the longest post I've written.

El próximo sábado quiero verlos a todos en el Coliseo de la Ciudad Deportiva, la comunidad estará participando por alla como colaboradores en una competición de FIFA con la idea de atraer jugadores y creadores de contenido hacia Hive. Muchas veces ambos van de la mano y esperamos encontrar oro allí.
