Hola hivianos, en esta serie de posts quiero mostrarles también algunas imágenes y particularidades de lugares y ciudades que he podido visitar en Quebec. Sin dudas, es una provincia muy hermosa y llena de lugares muy especiales para recrearse con vistas extraordinarias y disfrutar del contacto con la naturaleza. Hasta el momento, he visitado dos ciudades más aparte de Montreal: Sherbrooke y Quebec City.
En este post les comentaré sobre Sherbrooke. Visité esta ciudad en un solo día, en el cual pude recorrer el centro casi completo porque es pequeño a mi consideración.
Hello Hivians, in this series of post I also want to show you some images and particularities of places and cities that I have been able to visit in Quebec. Undoubtedly, it is a very beautiful province and full of very special places to recreate with extraordinary views and enjoy contact with nature. So far, I have visited two other cities apart from Montreal: Sherbrooke and Quebec City.
In this post I will tell you about Sherbrooke. I visited this city in a single day, in which I was able to tour the center almost completely because it is small in my opinion.
North Hatley
En el camino desde Montreal, pude pasar con mis compañeros de viaje por la villa North Hatley, el cual está muy cerca de la frontera norte de los Estados Unidos. El pueblo está situado cerca del lago Massawippi. A continuación, les presento algunas imágenes del paisaje de este pequeño lugar.
On the way from Montreal, I was able to pass with my fellow travelers through the village of North Hatley, which is very close to the northern border of the United States. The town is located near Lake Massawippi. Below I present some images of the landscape of this small place.
En esta imagen me cautivó ver cómo algunas casas se combinan con la naturaleza que les rodea.
In the last image I was captivated by seeing how some houses combine with the nature that surrounds them.
Sherbrooke
Desde mi percepción, Sherbrooke se caracteriza por tener muchas lomas y lagos, me vino a la mente mi ciudad Santiago de Cuba durante esa apreciación. Sus construcciones principales tienen fachada de ladrillo, dándole un toque más atractivo; en lo que pude averiguar, forma parte de su identidad arquitectónica.
From my perception, Sherbrooke is characterized by having many hills and lakes, my city Santiago de Cuba came to mind during that appreciation. Its main buildings have a brick facade giving it a more attractive touch; From what I could find out, it is part of its architectural identity.
También pude ver varios murales casi realistas en edificios, que tienen el propósito de rescatar la historia y cultura local y darle un toque artístico a sus calles. Realmente he podido valorar que Canadá aprovecha muy bien sus espacios naturales e intenta darle vida a los barrios más comunes.
I was also able to see several almost realistic murals on buildings, which have the purpose of rescuing local history and culture and giving an artistic touch to its streets. I have really been able to appreciate that Canada makes good use of its natural spaces, and tries to give life to the most common neighborhoods.
De seguro no van a dudar tomarse algunas fotos con estos personajes y aparentar forma parte de la trama.
Surely you will not hesitate to take some photos with these characters and pretend to be part of the plot.
Al igual que las demás ciudades, esta ciudad posee parques que rodean los lagos, donde puede realizarse un picnic, disfrutar de la exposición al sol y realizar actividades deportivas y recreativas al aire libre, entre ellas montar en bicicleta. A los canadienses les gusta mucho esta actividad debido a que es un ejercicio aeróbico con muchos beneficios para la salud. Dándole mi toque de investigador biomédico a este post, puedo decirles que de manera general, el ciclismo es considerado como un ejercicio aeróbico debido a que es una actividad repetitiva y de larga duración. El pedaleo en sí se considera como una de las terapias de rehabilitación que permite no solo restaurar las capacidades motoras, sino también disminuir los factores de riesgo prevalentes en personas con enfermedades cardiovasculares y cerebrales.
Like in other cities of Canada, this city has parks that surround the lakes, where you can have a picnic, enjoy the exposure to the sun and do sports and recreational activities in the open air, including riding a bicycle. Canadians really like this activity, because it is an aerobic exercise with many health benefits. Giving my biomedical researcher touch to this post, I can tell you that in general, cycling is considered an aerobic exercise because it is a repetitive and long-lasting activity. Cycling itself is considered one of the rehabilitation therapies that allows not only to restore motor skills, but also to reduce the risk factors prevalent in people with cardiovascular and brain diseases.
Bueno, volviendo a mi valoración sobre Sherbrooke, pude realizar la visita en plena primavera, por lo que los tulipanes no dejaron de captar mi total atención. Canadá realmente es un país en el que se pueden apreciar de manera notable las cuatro estaciones del año, y las flores van a cautivarte desde que recién termina el invierno hasta la llegada de este; una gran variedad, desde el diente de león con sus esferas blancuzcas hasta los tulipanes con su aspecto pomposo. Además, las plantas con flores parecen florecer muy rápido gracias al clima y al abono, al igual que los árboles que, al sentir el retiro de la nieve, recuperan sus colores. Well, going back to my assessment of Sherbrooke, I was able to visit it in the middle of spring, so the tulips did not fail to capture my full attention. Canada really is a country in which the four seasons of the year can be appreciated in a very remarkable way and the flowers will captivate you from the time winter ends until the arrival of it; a great variety, from the dandelion with its white spheres to the tulips with their pompous aspect. In addition to flowering plants, apparently with the weather and the fertilizer, they bloom very quickly, in the same way as the trees, which just by smelling the removal of snow recover their colors. Hasta aquí mi viaje a Sherbrooke. Espero volver a ir y mostrarles más sobre esta bella ciudad. Pero antes de despedirme, quiero compartirles esta última foto, donde unos intrusos viajeros de la actualidad fueron capturados como si estuvieran en esa época. Espero que los encuentren.
So far my trip to Sherbrooke, I hope to go back and show you more about this beautiful city, but not before leaving you this last photo, where some intrusive travelers of that day were captured as they were at that time. I hope you can find them 😅.
