Mi nombre es Yankiel Avila Martínez y soy un productor cubano de música electrónica. Aunque no cuento con una gran trayectoria musical, me gustaría que formarán parte de mi progreso como artista.

En un principio mi nombre artístico fue Atlas, inspirado precisamente por este Titán de la mitología griega, que llevaba el mundo cargado en su espalda como castigo. Aunque esté me parecía un buen nombre, quería crear uno más original y que me identificara correctamente; fue entonces, cuando luego de varios intentos encontré el nombre perfecto: Kierg, surgido de la unión de mi nombre y la palabra iceberg. Este último lo llevo tatuado como recuerdo de que todo lo que conocemos de una persona no es más que solo una pequeña parte de lo que en realidad muestra.
At first my artistic name was Atlas, inspired precisely by this Titan of Greek mythology, who carried the world on his back as punishment. Although this seemed to me a good name, I wanted to create a more original one that would identify me correctly; it was then, after several attempts, that I found the perfect name: Kierg, which arose from the union of my name and the word iceberg. I have the latter tattooed on me as a reminder that everything we know about a person is only a small part of what he or she really shows.
Nací el 15 de abril del 2001 en la provincia Las Tunas, Cuba. A los 5 años me mudé para el poblado de Vega Alta en la provincia de Villa Clara, lugar donde resido actualmente. Es un pueblo pequeño influenciado por la cultura parrandera que caracteriza a esta provincia, en la cual se destacan los municipios de Camajuaní y Remedios. Aquí conocí a mis primeras amistades e hice muy buenas relaciones con ellos. A pesar de ello, siempre he considerado como mi mejor amigo a mi hermano, quien siempre ha estado conmigo en los buenos y malos momentos, y aunque sus gustos musicales son muy diferentes a los míos, siempre me ha apoyado en lo que hago.
I was born on April 15, 2001 in the province of Las Tunas, Cuba. At the age of 5 I moved to the town of Vega Alta in the province of Villa Clara, where I currently reside. It is a small town influenced by the parrandera culture that characterizes this province, in which the municipalities of Camajuaní and Remedios stand out. Here I met my first friends and made very good relations with them. Despite this, I have always considered my brother as my best friend, who has always been with me in good times and bad, and although his musical tastes are very different from mine, he has always supported me in what I do.
Mis gustos musicales están influenciados principalmente por artistas como Skrillex, Martin Garrix, Avicci, los cuales despertaron mi interés por la música electrónica. Bangarang, Wake Me Up y Animals estuvieron entre las primeras canciones que escuché. Fue una época en la que la música electrónica tomó mucho auge entre adolescentes y jóvenes. Desde entonces, comencé a crear mis primeras mezclas mediante el empleo Virtual Dj. De ahí, nació el sueño de crear mi propia música y convertirme en un buen productor musical.
My musical tastes are mainly influenced by artists like Skrillex, Martin Garrix, Avicci, which awakened my interest in electronic music. Bangarang, Wake Me Up y Animals were among the first songs I listened to. It was a time when electronic music was booming among teenagers and young people. Since then, I started to create my first mixes using Virtual Dj. From there, the dream of creating my own music and becoming a good music producer was born.
En el año 2019, tras comentarle a un amigo mi interés hacia la producción musical me recomendó usar el famoso Fl Studio . En ese momento, no pude adquirirlo debido a la escasez de información, pero luego de investigar un poco pude encontrarlo en la red de redes. Allí comencé a experimentar por primera vez lo que era la producción musical, todo lo que era un mundo por conocer. Fueron varias horas frente a mi laptop aprendiendo a usar los controles y Plug-ins. La emoción, los sentimientos, todo lo podía expresar a través de notas musicales. Esa misma sensación la siento hoy en dia cada vez que creo un nuevo proyecto.
In 2019, after telling a friend about my interest in music production, he recommended me to use the famous Fl Studio . At that time, I could not acquire it due to the scarcity of information, but after a little research I could find it on the network of networks. There I began to experience for the first time what music production was, all that was a world to know. It was several hours in front of my laptop learning how to use the controls and Plug-ins. The emotion, the feelings, everything I could express through musical notes. That same feeling I feel today every time I create a new project.
Al inicio, lo tome como un hobbie y creaba pistas para compartir con mis familiares y amigos. Me tomó mucho trabajo adaptarme por no estar familiarizado con el programa y aunque no mostré gran avance, estas creaciones me sirvieron para ganar experiencia. Muchas veces pensé en dejarlo porque mi música carecía de carácter, pero nunca me dí por vencido. No podía abandonar mi sueño.
At the beginning, I took it as a hobby and created tracks to share with my family and friends. It took me a lot of work to adapt because I was not familiar with the program and although I did not show great progress, these creations served me to gain experience. Many times I thought about quitting because my music lacked character, but I never gave up. I could not give up my dream.
Un año después, todo cambio al conocer a un gran amigo, el cual considero mi maestro: @theinfiltred, quien me asesoro acerca del tema. Estuve en uno de sus cursos sobre producción musical, el cual fue la base para comenzar una creación más profesional. Después de terminar el curso comencé a seguir a Erick Kouffman y Olbaid donde seguí consolidando y profundizando mis conocimientos. Desde entonces he estado aplicando estos conocimientos, pero sin dejar de pedir consejos.
A year later, everything changed when I met a great friend, who I consider my teacher: @theinfiltred, who advised me on the subject. I attended one of his courses on music production, which was the basis to start a more professional creation. After finishing the course I started following Erick Kouffman and Olbaid where I continued consolidating and deepening my knowledge. Since then I have been applying this knowledge, but still asking for advice.
A los 20 años creé mi primer track oficial, War. Fue mi primer tema en ser enviado a un sello discográfico, y el ser aceptado me dio mucha alegría. Esto fue de gran inspiración para mí. Este fue lanzado por el sello discográfico @spickrecords, sello que se ha centrado en la distribución y promoción musical en la web 3.0. Es una canción de Dubstep con sonidos profundos, creando una atmósfera envolvente y llena de emociones, acompañado de una voz femenina que nos guía a través de la melodía.
At the age of 20 I created my first official track, War. It was my first track to be submitted to a record label, and being accepted gave me a lot of joy. This was a great inspiration for me. This was released by the record label @spickrecords, a label that has focused on music distribution and promotion on the web 3.0. It is a Dubstep song with deep sounds, creating an enveloping atmosphere full of emotions, accompanied by a female voice that guides us through the melody.
Los géneros en los que me desarrollo son el Dubstep, Melodic Dubstep, Drumstep y Electro House. En sus inicios experimenté en varios subgéneros del Electronic Dance Music más conocido como EDM, pero luego de un tiempo elegí estos antes mencionados, por lo que he estado incursionando en ellos. No ha sido fácil aprender sobre estos, me llevó mucho tiempo de estudio e investigación, YouTube ha sido unas de las principales herramientas debido a la gran cantidad de video tutoriales que contiene.
The genres in which I develop are Dubstep, Melodic Dubstep, Drumstep and Electro House. In the beginning I experimented in several subgenres of Electronic Dance Music better known as EDM, but after a while I chose these before mentioned, so I've been dabbling in them. It has not been easy to learn about these, it took me a lot of time of study and research, YouTube has been one of the main tools due to the large amount of video tutorials it contains.
Cree una pequeña colección de nft que contaba con dos obras, Faceless woman y Facelees Men. Ambas obras fueron minteadas en We-nft. La primera en ser lanzada fue Facelees woman. Fueron creadas a mano mucho tiempo antes de convertirlas en nft, dibujadas con lapicero sobre papel con trazos rasgados. Son obras minimalistas, pero con gran significado y valor. Hechas para que el espectador pueda depositar en esos rostros vacíos las emociones que desee.
I created a small collection of nft that had two works, Faceless woman and Facelees Men. Both works were minted in We-nft. The first to be released was Facelees woman. They were created by hand long before turning them into nft, drawn with pencil on paper with torn strokes. They are minimalist works, but with great meaning and value. Made so that the viewer can deposit in these empty faces the emotions he/she wishes.
Estoy cursando el último año de la carrera Ingeniería Química en la Universidad Central Marta Abreu de las Villas, razón por la cual me he alejado un tanto de la producción para centrarme correctamente en el estudio. No obstante, he continuado trabajando y practicando en mis tiempos libres. Desde que termine mis estudios preuniversitarios ingrese a esta prestigiosa universidad en la cual me he desarrollado y crecido como persona. Han sido 3 años de muchas experiencias, conocí a mis actuales amistades y a mi pareja. Está carrera significa mucho para mí, desde pequeño me interesó la química, así que me siento muy a gusto estudiando está carrera.
I am in my last year of Chemical Engineering at the Universidad Central Marta Abreu de las Villas, which is why I have taken some time away from production in order to focus properly on my studies. However, I have continued working and practicing in my free time. Since I finished my pre-university studies I entered this prestigious university where I have developed and grown as a person. It has been 3 years of many experiences, I met my current friends and my partner. This career means a lot to me, since I was a child I was interested in chemistry, so I feel very comfortable studying this career.
Actualmente me encuentro trabajando en futuros proyectos y en varias colaboraciones con distintos artistas. Muchas personas al igual que yo en mis inicios, no tienen ni el conocimiento ni las herramientas necesarias para aprender, por eso, aunque mi trayectoria no es muy larga, me gusta ayudar a nuevos artistas a entrar en este bello mundo de la producción y apoyarlos en todo lo que necesiten.
I am currently working on future projects and several collaborations with different artists. Many people like me in my beginnings, have neither the knowledge nor the necessary tools to learn, that's why, although my career is not very long, I like to help new artists to enter this beautiful world of production and support them in everything they need.
