Mesjid terbesar di nanggro aceh darussalam nama mesjid baiturrahman yang terletak dibanda aceh,sebagaimana mesjid itu yang pertama dibangun pada masa penjajahan pada tahun 1022 H/ 1612 masehi.lalu tentara belanda menyerah kedua kalinya diaceh.lalu dibakar pada tahun1290 hijiriah /10 april
1873 masehi.Kemudian, pada tahun 1877 Belanda membangun kembali Masjid Raya Baiturrahman untuk menarik perhatian serta meredam kemarahan Bangsa Aceh. Pada saat itu Kesultanan Aceh masih berada di bawah pemerintahan Sultan Muhammad Daud Syah Johan Berdaulat yang merupakan Sultan Aceh yang terakhir.
Sebagai tempat bersejarah yang memiliki nilai seni tinggi, Masjid Raya Baiturrahman menjadi objek wisata religi yang mampu membuat setiap wisatawan yang datang berdecak kagum akan sejarah dan keindahan arsitekturnya, di mana Masjid Raya Baiturrahman termasuk salah satu Masjid terindah di Indonesia yang memiliki arsitektur yang memukau, ukiran yang menarik, halaman yang luas dengan kolam pancuran air bergaya Kesultanan Turki Utsmani dan akan sangat terasa sejuk apabila berada di dalam Masjid ini.
Setelah itu merdeka indonesia pada 1tahun 1945.
Setelah itu terjadi musibah tsunami di aceh pada tahun 26 desember 2004 ,jatuh pada hari minggu jam 8.00 wib
Naik gelombang air laut begitu tinggi,rumah kandas,orang Beribu- ribuan hilang jawa..
Mesjid lain semua rusak .
Akan tetapi dengan kuasa Allah SWT. Air laut itu mengalir melingkar disekeliling mesjid baiturrahman,mesjid itu tidak rusak masih berdiri kokoh.orang-orang yang berlindung dimesjid itu selamat.
Sekarang mesjid itu sudah dibangun seperti diarab ada payung lagi..
Dan sangat cantik mesjid itu yang terbesar diaceh dan yang paling tertua.
Mesjid itu menjadi sejarah di aceh...
Semua orang berkunjung ke mesjid baiturrahman banda aceh.
