Being in Masons and a little "old" I have a few Brothers left from the Greatest Generation. I am so happy my oldest, @walky123 , is watching this series. In another decade of so, that generation will be scarcer than it is today. By the time he is my age, they will be gone. I actually know a real-life hero who landed on D-day, and they are the Greatest Generation. Maybe it is because war was not so dmaned pointless, maybe TV and air conditioning have made men weaker, maybe it is something in the water (BPA) but the older heroes are worthy of the veneration.
