Hey there! It's @ddrfr33k and @chiren with another update for you guys. You've probably seen a lot of people talking about the upcoming hardfork. With good reason, too! A lot of people have spent time preparing for the upcoming changes, and so have we! We're preparing so we can be ready for the upcoming changes.
We're not going to spend any time talking about whether these changes are good or bad. You can go to anyone else and get their opinion. Instead, we're going to do what we always do:
Because that's the best course of action, in our eyes. We could waste all this time complaining, but we could be much more productive looking to work with what we've got.
Anyhoo! Vimm is making some changes as a result of the change to reward payouts. We're lowering our beneficiary reward to 10% (it was 12%) and implementing an optional increase for other beneficiary amounts. This change has already been implemented, you can check it out right now! Go to Settings -> My Contributions. You should see something like this:
You can adjust that slider anywhere from 10-40%. @ddrfr33k is crazy and has his set to 20%. You don't have to be like him if you don't want to. But you know what? We love people that do that. They make us feel like this:
No, really. We love you guys! You're awesome and we love you. We mean it!
There's one other thing related to the hardfork we wanted to talk about. While the change does lower reward payouts to content creators, it also increases it to curators. This is the time for viewers to support their favorite streamers and grow in the process. To that end, we want to encourage everyone who tunes in to a streamer to give them an upvote. It'll help them and it'll help you, too!
