5 Ways to Help Hurricane Harvey Flood Victims!!

1). Donate $$

  • City of Houston Relief Fund Set up by Houston’s Mayor Sylvester Turner, you can donate directly to the relief effort online.

  • American Red Cross or call 1- 800-RED CROSS or text the word HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

  • The Salvation Army or call 1-800-725-2769 to donate.

  • GlobalGiving Donors can also text HARVEY to 80100 to donate $10 to GlobalGiving's Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.

2). Volunteer

  • Just because the hurricane is over, the city is still battle flooding, rescue and rebuilding problems. Both the Red Cross and the Salvation Army are taking volunteers. Visit the websites above for more info.

United Airlines The carrier is offering up to 1,000 bonus miles to MileagePlus members who donate to relief efforts on its fundraising page - and matching the first $100,000. Donate $50-$99 and you'll earn 250 bonus miles; $100-$249 will get you 500 bonus miles.

Apple The multimedia giant has set up a donation link directly on iTunes and App Store.Visit www.apple.com for more information. Donations will go directly to the American Red Cross.

The Home Depot Foundation will donate $1 million to be disbursed across several organizations, including the American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Convoy of Hope, Operation Blessing and Team Rubicon.

Walmart pledged at least $1 million in cash, along with product donations equivalent to at least $1 million, to a number of relief organizations, including the American Red Cross, Salvation Army and Convoy of Hope.

Google announced it is making a $250,000 donation and matching up to $250,000 of employee donations to the American Red Cross.

Lowe’s along with donating $500,000 to the American Red Cross, home hardware company Lowe's said it would expedite clean-up and recovery supplies to its stores in Texas, including generators, bottled water, gas cans, chainsaws, water removal equipment, shovels, rakes and other gear.
