The language of ivrit ( עברית ) Genesis 5, DTube Video #1

Welcome to my DTube Hebrew reading & language series. New chapter!

Beginning Genesis 5:1-5

The chapter starts right from the beginning, restating that God created man in His image, making them male and female, and calling THEM Man, (Adam in Hebrew). This solves a lot of issues that cause arguments when read in Hebrew. All men, women, etc. who have human DNA are called Man.

Latin languages, such as Spanish, have no difficulty or arguments about those things . If a group of only women are talking, "we" is nosotras. All women with one man in the group makes "we" into nosotros, all men is nosotros. Our reading today says that "He called them adam in Hebrew or man.

People were living a good 800-1000 years each.

The second part of this reading starts telling us how long each father waited to have a child, starting with the first man who fathered Seth at 130 years of age, in the likeness of himself, according to the image of him. He then lived eight hundred more years having other sons and daughters. The chart above does the math, 930 years.

It is note worthy that Seth never experienced what his parents did early on, ie; "And their eyes were opened." For that reason it is restated above, in the likeness of and according to the image of- his father who we call Adam.

Compare that to to how God made the first man, male and female, in the image and likeness of Him (God).

Sin free compared to eyes opened is the main difference. Free choice and free will was always ours.

There is one obvious mistake if you can hear it. It is a vertical dyslexia thing. I might pay ten steem to the first to tell me what it is.

If you are just starting, my lessons are all here starting at Alef, adding vowels (the dots and lines) as we go, the sofit formations and numerical values. Just go to my blog and scroll to the bottom or click here
