8 Stress-Repellent Food

Hi, My fellow steemians this time I will share health articles, hopefully can help.

The hunger and Stress that comes can be a dangerous combination. We will probably eat as much food as possible which makes us feel hungry and strees more attacking. On the other hand, we can choose foods that can make us feel relaxed until the strees subside. Every food we consume has chemistry, nutrition, hormones, and more. So, some foods may contribute to give us the peace of mind that we just discusse.

1. Honey

Honey contains high-level tryptophan. Tryptophan is a powerful compound that reduces anxiety and relaxes the nerves.

We can consume honey by adding on top of yogurt, a bowl of fruit, or served with toast.

2. Warm Milk

Similar to honey, milk also contains high tripofan. besides milk also contains calcium that can cause relaxation sensation.

If we are not a fan of warm milk, try mixing a little milk over cereal for snacks before sleep.

3. Green Tea

Green tea is rich in L-theanine which is a chemical that is proven to relieve strees and encourage a sense of calm

Drinking a cup of caffeinated green tea before bed is the best way to relax after a long and stressful day.

4. Chocolate

Chocolate has long been believed to be a food that can improve mood. Black chocolate is able to regulate levels of cortisol is the hormone responsible for strees.

5. Coconut

Well, as an alternative stress reliever, you can add coconut on the smoothie or make a snack containing coconut. This is great for our health.

6. Banana

Bananas contain potassium and magnesium that can relax the muscles of the body. In addition, bananas also become popular food for athletes after exercise.

This fruit also contains tryptophan, a chemical that is able to provide a relaxed sensation in the body.

7. Brown Rice

According to the Good Relaxation page, brown rice contains complex carbohydrates that help release insulin in the body. In addition, the content of Amino Acids in brown rice is able to treat insomnia and produce the hormone serotonin. These hormones make us feel happy and Melatonin or hormones that help us to sleep.

8. Green Vegetables

Green and leafy vegetables such as spinach and kale are rich in folate, the vitamin that helps the body produce Dopamine, a chemical compound in the brain that can make us feel good. Green vegetables can also contribute to mental health so they can actually help reduce the risk of depression.
Research in 2012 published in the Journal of Affective Disorders shows, people who follow a diet high in folate tend not to show symptoms of depression.
There are many food choices that can help us to get a healthy, relaxed feeling. If you are very stressed, can hardly think, consider one of these eight food choices to help the mind to feel at ease.
