Go up the mountain to find wild bamboo shoots.

After the rain all night today Me and my nephew and I will go out to look for bamboo shoots in the mountains. It is a naturally occurring wild bamboo shoot. My village is in Khon Kaen province in the northeast of Thailand. It's a small rural village. Most of the people there work mainly as farmers in exchange for farming. When the season of wild bamboo shoots, people will go out to find some to sell and some to cook. Wild bamboo shoots can also be made in many dishes and can be made into food that can be stored for years.

Today, my nephew and mother took to the mountain that is not far from the village, about 4 kilometers. Equipment to find wild bamboo shoots on Mountains have bamboo shoot bags and knives to dig out bamboo shoots. The dress must be very tight. There are many mosquitoes. It took us 4-5 hours to find wild bamboo shoots. Once we have enough bamboo shoots, we will go home to have lunch in my village.

After coming home, we have to help wash the bamboo shoots thoroughly with plain water and use a knife to cut off some unattractive parts. A popular dish among locals is bamboo shoots boiled. It takes a very long time to cook bamboo shoots overnight so that the bamboo shoots don't have a bitter taste. After boiling, clean and rinse with water again to make it clean and ready to eat. Freshly boiled bamboo shoots have a unique aroma. Can eat and do many menus of my local food.
