Part One :My memoir of typhoon Haiyan

Yesterday, the current President Rodrigo Duterte made November 8 a special holiday for Taclobanons in remembrance of the super typhoon Haiyan or typhoon Yolanda that struck it to ground zero four years ago. As much as I want to be home like its first anniversary
the practical side of things gets the best of me.

So how do one write about a memoir on an event of a global scale? Global in the sense that it landfall into number of countries and it had earned the world's attention .Almost every literature form had been written about it .So well publicized it was that many use it cement their political aspirations, soar their ratings or just enrich themselves.

It was common to see famous celebrities sportsman, actors/actresses, singers, soon models, politician and even the Pope that even those from far flung unaffected area would travel to devastated area just to have a free audience.

So mamoth was the scale of the impact that the typhoon Yolanda can be a good real life situation for any academic interest. Economist concept of supply and demand was best seen when prices skyrocketed amidst the chaos.Months after one can still feel it's pinch when you find oneself unable to hire a carpenter to do your repairs because they were busy and at an exorbitant rate.

Laws and jurisprudence were reviewed when government and it's officials were asked of their accountability to its stockbrokers.

Managerial concepts were tested in handling organizations in stressful situations as well as in utilising it's human and non human resources

Environmental issues were tackled from climate change ,waste management and urban planning.

Banking and financial system were summoned to explain their policies in the attempt to understand why despite the billions of donation that poured in little was accomplished and why many donations were never given to afflicted as they were unpaid by the government due to its pricey tariff.

Spiritual concepts reached ears of believers and non believers alike as never was a time in history that nations and church leaders disregard their differences to aid an afflicted country .Sure it killed many ,damaged billions and cause unspeakable heartache but it was also a time of spiritual awakening .I can remember a couple of Bible verses that have sustained me and my family through the grieving process.

Medical skills were honed and high end technology was introduced from filtering water, body retrieval ,electricity generation as well as food supplementation to address gross malnutrition.

How do you pen something so personal to you and be objective at the same time? Like any memoir mine is subject to dispute. I am alloting time to make sense of the beliefs I had of life that were brought about by this tempest. I hope I do justice doing that.

To start, I am attaching here my pictures of first year anniversary from another blog as I have not figured out yet how to use my entrees from an old blog to here.
