Wacky Idea: Ban the guns!

'Guns are bad. I have a wacky idea: let's take them from the people and give them to the biggest mass murderer in recent history: the U.S. government.

To take the guns we will arm hired agents of the state to remove them by force. If you resist, you will be shot.

Deadly weapons are much safer in the government's hands, folks. They have a great track record for peace, safety, and prosperity.

'Murica! Spreading peace and freedom all over the world.'

In all seriousness, self-defense is a natural right and, even though I'm not necessarily a rootin'-tootin' gun lover (being from the UK 'n all...), people have a right to defend themselves from foreign and domestic threats.

The fact of the matter is, you don't need to love guns -- or any other piece of private property -- to understand the principle of self-ownership.

It isn't a gun issue, a drug issue, or a tax issue; the issue is individual liberty and the acceptance of personal responsibility. Being for guns doesn't mean you have to love guns. Being for drugs doesn't mean you have to take drugs. It means you understand the principle of self-ownership and the basic tenets of individual freedom. You have the right to do whatever you want provided you are not harming others or stealing their property.

The truth is always simple. The lie is complex.
