Gibson files for bankruptcy protection: A view of my guitars over the years...

I used to play in a Jazz ensemble back in the late 1980's and early 1990's up at Syracuse University but got my first guitar in May 1974. Joe Riposo was the main instructor on jazz improv. I suspect these guitars will go up in value over the years even if they completely go out of business.

I haven't done much with music in the last couple of decades (stopped playing in bars for the most part after 1994 but did a couple of gigs in the 2000's). Music was always sort of a hobby for me though many tried to encourage me to go pro. I've had other interests going on.

My chops were the best back in the 1990's when I did a lot of Pat Metheny's material and mostly focused on ensemble play with comps and solos. Now I don't do lead improv so much because I haven't stuck with a band.
