Learn Guitar: C Ionian Spacing

Didn't realize I missed the C Ionian spacing. The Ionian mode is the initial mode, and possibly the most famous scale in music, essentially Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti, Do if you have ever heard that?

The intervals in Ionian are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 1. The spacing between these intervals is w, w, h, w, w, w, h. The other modes are essentially just doing Ionian starting on a different interval thus the spacing remains the same but is only shifted up or down a few units. Ionian uses a major chord since it has the intervals 1, 3, 5.

Tomorrow we will discuss the A min, pentatonic blues scale that is used in blues and rock, it is an interesting and fun modification to the minor pentatonic scale. We will then go on to discuss common inteval patterns including the 12 bar blues interval spacing of 1, 4, 5, which many common interval spacings use one or multiple of these intervals.

As always, thank you so much steem!!!
