Seasons Greetings from Toronto

Happy Holidays! - soon to be New Year. I've been in Toronto for the holidays, heading back home tomorrow morning. We're down here visiting with the stepson, and enjoying the city. One of our favorite destinations in Toronto is Kensington Market.

Kensington Market Toronto

On the West side of Toronto, west of China Town is Kensington Market. An artsy, hippy, punkish, rasta, eccentric part of town with plenty of unique shops, people, and graffiti. When first entering Kensington Market from the East you are greeted with fresh fish smells and booming reggae music.

Graffiti Art Everywhere

From the graffiti you can see the multiple cultural influences. Below is one of my favorite pieces - any large surface can become a canvas for these artists.

Canadian Pride

You can still sense the Canadian pride with the Canadian Bacon Nation Eatery & Bar restaurant in the picture below.

The Hot Box Cafe

It's a tradition that we stop at the Hot Box Cafe - a friendly neighborhood smoke shop. Stepson joined me on the back patio for green tea and a smoke :)

Breath of Life

Another one of my favorite murals pictured below. Breathing life into the cold city.

You Made it this Far...

I enjoyed this latest addition - this cheeky template graffiti is splashed here and there around Kensington :)

Always a good time in the big city, but I'm looking forward to heading back to the cabin for the rest of the holidays.

Have a great day!
