‘...saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty’ (Revelation 1:8b).
Beloved, in Genesis chapter one, Abba is called ‘God’ (i.e. ‘Elohim’). It means ‘The Supreme Creator God’. In the whole chapter, you would see ‘God (Elohim) said.’ You don't see the word ‘LORD’ (in capital letters), which is a rendering of ‘Yahweh’. But you also see ‘the Spirit of the Lord’ (which mostly is a rendering of Adonai).
In Genesis chapter two, which is the same chapter Man had received breathe of life and came fully on the scene, Abba is mostly called the ‘LORD God’, which is, ‘Yahweh God’.
Yahweh God is our covenant keeping God, the self-existing God and He is the One that went into a covenant in our behalf; He is Jesus. The name ‘Yahweh’ gives us the sense of a special unconditional love relationship, a sacrificial relationship on our behalf.
WHEN you are conscious of Abba's love, you will always dominate vitally in life. His Name, YAHWEH, is the source of intimacy. In Genesis three, while the Devil through the serpent tempted Eve, he didn't mention the ‘LORD (YAHWEH) God,’ as the One who has been talking to man all the while. He kept on asking, ‘has God (Elohim the Supreme Creator) said…?’ Eve even loosed sight of Yahweh God and replied in the same tone, ‘God (the supreme creator)….’ She loosed sight of Abba's love!
Abba wanted them to see Him as not just the Creator, but as YAHWEH ELOHIM also -the One that loves them unconditionally. When you are conscious of Abba's love, you will always dominate vitally in life.
It was Yahweh God who sought, ‘Adam, where art thou?’ after they had fallen. Yahweh God was the one that removed off them the "fig leaves," which was a picture of works and self-efforts in trying to solve the sin problem, and then Yahweh God clothed them with animal's skin, a picture of what He will do on the cross for us as the true solution to the sin problem.
It was Yahweh God that stopped man from eating from the tree of life after they had fallen, because of the bigger picture of His everlasting life; if not man would have been irredeemable. Yahweh God came on the scene because of man!
Beloved, Jesus Christ is the living Word. God has given us the written Word to unveil the living Word to us.
Give the Word of Grace, the New Testament, primarily, first place in
your life. By so doing, you are putting Jesus first. Let this Word govern your life. Let this Word be the Lord of your life. Let the Word have dominion over you. By so doing, you are letting Jesus dominate you. Glory to God!
Some people have said, "I don't see many believers reigning." The reason is, reigning hasn't been proclaimed. God said in the Old Testament, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6). He is inferring that if His people possess knowledge of who they are and who God is—if they know their rights, their privileges, and their dominion—they won't be destroyed.
The reason Satan is often able to reign in the lives of some Christians is because many times Christians do not realize they have a part to play. The Bible doesn't say Jesus Christ will reign through you; it says you "shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ" (Romans 5:17). Romans 5:17 also says we have received "abundance of grace" and the "gift of righteousness." It's receiving the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness that enable one to reign. If you don't know what you've received, you'll be hindered in reigning.
What does "the gift of righteousness" mean. First, it means you're made right with God. It means right-standing with God. If I'm in right-standing with God, then I can't ever be in any better standing with God. That's something we need to get into our spirits.
Say this with me: I KNOW AND BELIEVE YAHWEH LOVES ME! HE IS THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY, AND FOREVER, HE IS JESUS! AND HIS EVERLASTING LOVE HAS BEEN LAVISHED UPON ME! I AM HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS! I AM SINLESS! I AM PERFECT! AND I REIGN IN LIFE BECAUSE HE LOVES ME! THE CROSS OF JESUS HAS BEAUTIFIED ME FOREVER!
