Google is well-known and praised for the remembrances it makes through it’s cute and lovable doodles.
Today, that’s on 29 June 2018, Google’s doodle is celebrating the 125th birthday of a lesser-known yet magnificent Indian personality named Prasad Chandra Mahalanobis.
Prasad Chandra? Who?
Prasad Chandra was a scientist and applied statistician. Born in Calcutta (present day Kolkata), Bengal, he is remembered for the invention of a statistical measure named Mahalanobis.
He was also a member of the Planning Commission of Free India.
During the last days of his life, he was the Secretary and director of Indian Statistical Institute. He dedicated his service as a researcher there.
I feel highly obliged to Google to putting light on such forgotten personalities and letting the world know them through it’s doodles.
