Google giving users permissions to lock down their accounts

No other tech firm has given these feature to users before. To the users who want them you now have admin of your account and can lock down your google accounts. This new feature will use a special USB key to log in via desktop, if you use a mobile device you can unlock using a dongle.

Users who want to use this service will have to buy their own U2F keys, This seems to be another layer beyond the 2 - factor password.

These U2F keys have been around for a few years now and Google has supported them in the past. The problem with this system is that if you lose them it will not be an easy task to recover your account. Let's just say you never want to go down that route. There are procedures set in place but they are very astringent and complicated.
Implementing this security protocols will definitely change your behavior and habits of how you will have to log in. So with this new technology you will have to weigh the protection vs the extra layers of activity that comes with the new technology.
