As computing power increases we get more detailed analytics about human psychology and culture exchange. These analytics tools could be used as a means to give a monetary value to human culture production. Currently the majority of these tools are being used by corporations to influence who people are going to vote for and what they are going to buy, but these tools can be used to support and foster culture growth instead of forcefully engineering it.
The reason I am so enamored with steemit right now is because it is one of the first places that we see an earnest attempt to provide regular people an opportunity to be compensated for producing culture.
This is particularly important to me because our technology has dramatically outpaced our culture here in the US, and it now threatens all of humanity. We need to promote and support tools like #steemit to help build the right kind of culture, the kind of culture where helping each other allows people to help themselves as well.
Everyone needs to survive and have #money, being recognized and rewarded for making contributions to our culture by giving time and effort has great value to the human psyche. Steemits very existence shows that humans are starting to understand concepts like this and it is a novel solution to two looming problems, robots taking jobs and dangerous technology in the hands of unevolved barbarians.
The fact that social media #blockchains like steemit exist and are gaining popularity, is great sign that humans are more than capable of developing the solutions we need to thrive, and also finding ways to implement them. I get excited about where all of this is headed and that is because of all you other steemians.
