Woman charged over bogus gold investment scheme

KUANTAN: A jobless woman here has pleaded not guilty to inducing an individual to invest RM40,000 in a bogus gold investment scheme.

Umi Morny Mokhtar, 32, claimed trial to the charge on Monday before magistrate Tengku Eliana Tuan Kamaruzaman.

The accused is alleged to have tried to induce a 44-year-old woman to invest in the fraudulent scheme at a house in Taman Tas Ria here between July 4 and Aug 7, 2017.

Magistrate Tengku Eliana set bail at RM5,000 and fixed April 19 for mention of the case.
