Finally Short Break From Gloom And Doom Weather

Days of dealing with persistent low clouds on Long Island have made the day to day extremely problematic. Gloomy starts with morning low clouds and fog. Some places burned off to some sunshine while others struggled all day. The satellite picture shows clouds hugging the coast while we did see some sunshine inland and west of Long Island. Now we move ahead to the weekend. Another night of low clouds and patchy fog are likely. We do have a cold front that will be approaching however and that should usher in a change and a break in the gloom and doom. Unfortunately it will be short lived.

Saturday we will see plenty of clouds around. A cold front will be passing through and winds will definitely shift to the northwest. That should bring the humidity down Saturday afternoon. Perhaps later in the afternoon we might break out in some sun. Skies should partially clear Saturday night and temperatures will drop. Highs Saturday will be in the upper 60s to around or just over 70 but we will be dropping into the 40s Sunday morning.

Sunday is going to be a cool day for sure with a northeast wind. The question is whether we can get a day outside of the recent doom and gloom conditions we have endured. We are leaning toward a partly sunny day. There will be some moisture to our south that will try and move northward but we are betting that it stays southeast of us during the daytime.

Another cold front approaches on Monday but most of the showers with that will go to our north. We will likely see cloudy skies Monday. It doesn't seem like the front will have much with it at the moment. Monday's highs will be back into the 60s. The front will stall to our south and we will likely have to deal with a series of waves beginning Tuesday. That means opportunities for some rain next week.
