We went on a short trip to the Frederik Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids. The Conservatory is 15,000-square-ft and the outdoor gardens includes a 30-acre outdoor sculptural park and features more than 170 sculptures.
We escaped the cold and snow for a little bit in the tropical area. We pretended we were somewhere warm if only for a little while.
What we really wanted to check out were the sculptures and the 8 acre Japanese gardens covered in snow outside. There weren't too many people outdoors so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The weather was pretty nice for January. I wish I had taken a few more pictures but the family was hungry.
