Citronella gives off a pleasant lemon like smell that helps keep some mosquitos and other biting insects from finding you. We plant it as a annual around our front door where we sit to have our morning coffee, around our bbq and the trail going to our clothes line.

We cut the six inch cuttings on a 45 degree angle, and put a small amount of rooting hormone on the bottom inch of the cutting. They will grow roots with just water but the rooting hormone speeds things up. You can also use honey or willow water to speed things up.
We give the plants a couple of days under a small led light before exposing them to direct light. Keep soil moist and spray the plants a couple of times a day until rooted. We have almost 100% success this way.
