Fig Tree Cuttings Update!

The Progress in Two Weeks:

It has been a full 2 weeks as of today since the fig cuttings were planted in my setup for propagation and I can say that I am already seeing results!

Now if you were to look at the original post or the pictures when this project first began you would think there is no difference, change, or progress since then. For the most part you would be right,

As you can see in the picture above there is no sign of any top growth, whether it is leaves or branches of any kind. This is actually the outcome we want for the moment being. It is important we get no top growth and focus on what is below the soil.

In this picture above we can see there is moister and thanks to the heating mat below it is warm moister.

We can even see the same results through the top of the cups that are slightly out of the soil.

Here is a better close up in the image above as well!

All that work to get this result: A Root System!!! This is one of the only fig cutting that I can see the roots.

Now that doesn't mean the others don't have roots, most likely they all do it's just they haven't grow out from the center of the cup as this one has.

Can't wait to see how farther along they get in another two weeks or so. The weather here has gone back to more winter-like which is really good for this particular method. Here is the first post if you want to know the specifics of this method and what I am using to do it: https://steemit.com/gardening/@kepo777/growing-fig-trees-from-cuttings-experiment

Thanks for reading!!!

Keep on steeming!!!
