Burning clematis

Few things in the garden are as despised as the dreaded clematis! Leave it unchecked for a few years and it will cover your house wholе. It's like the kudzu in the south USA, but at least winter slows it down.

We spent a day removing a patch of the stuff that overgrown our fence with the neighbors. Hard work and lucky the fence is tough, as pulling the vines easily breaks thinner fence nets.

Hubby even dug around and cut a few underground branches that were 5 cm and more in thickness!

What we removed we piled on two piles each of them a cubic meter at least. What's best for clematis is to burn it and use the ash in the garden. If you leave even a small piece of branch that is not dry, it will take root! Never compost clematis! A disaster!

So we burned it all! Followed by a barbecue of course! Ash is now spread in the garden.
