Hello, it is Xempy! A "semi-pro" CS:GO player that has a little of a LAN and Online tournaments history. Here to talk about ranking up in Valve Matchmaking. I will break this down to you in few steps so let's get started!
- Raw Aim is just 10% of your skill!
I see a lot of people practicing only their's mechanical skill, which is, don't get me wrong, good but not as much as important as team play. In most situations of your competitive game you should outplay a enemy by your brain and when I say brain I mean tactics, lurking, positioning, making them anxious about where are you hiding. Which is best trained by watching PRO players demos that you can find over on HLTV.org.
- Find people to play with.
This part may or may not be that hard. Playing with a group of friends(or people you have a chemistry with) is much more easier. Don't get me wrong and just que with your "god" friends who can carry you to global, play with ones you got chemistry with and don't be afraid to play with them even if they're lower skill group than you. Because chemistry > Brute force.
- Keep CALM!
Don't get anxious about losing your rank, after all it's just a picture under your name ingame. Keep focus on having fun and improving yourself, not your rank. Everyone plays better when they are chill. And DO NOT rage on your teammates, if your teammate lost an easy 1v1 he probably feels bad and you yelling at him won't do any better but worse. Also if you lose an easy duel or if it's your fault that you lost a game, don't worry. We're all human after all and nothing would be fun if you don't make mistakes.
