MiniReview | Lone Wolf: The Chronicles of Kai, the game book.

Many before the decision games existed, long before there was an Internet, children had to look for a means of entertainment in very different ways to those we have now, at that time the medium was known as Game Book, a book that interacted with the reader and allowed him to make choices to continue with the story, counting on various endings. This functioned as follows:

You decide to go to the woods to find your friends in the forest, if you do; go to page 7.

Making it necessary to change pages many times during the whole reading of the game, simply something very interesting in that distant golden age of these books. There is a great number of them, with an enormous quality, although little by little they have been lost. As this happens, the community of users has decided to go scanning the books and upload them to Internet for the enjoyment of the old charmed ones to this gender hilarious.

Sometimes, depending on how advanced the game was, the player would be tasked with having a charactersheet, choosing your skills and using a die to play, this would be the archaic of what we now know as RPG' s. Depending on what skills you had, choices could appear specifically for that ability, as well as being able to store objects and weapons. Battles or big decisions of great luck, are randomly fought with the use of a good pair of dice. Old but functional, I'd say.

Now that I've told you all this, you'll wonder: What are the chronicles of Kai? Well, dear uneducated friend, is one of the best book game series ever created. It consists mainly of 7 books, where the adventures of a Kai warrior are narrated in order to save the Nordic country of Sommerlund, which will be constantly attacked by the Lords of Darkness. I would tell you why the Lone Wolf, but it becomes very deductible.

This book game turned out to be so famous and special among all of us that it's even available to play online, thanks to Project Aon; it's the ultimate icon leaving many of its "competitors", it was a revolution. The book games were mostly for young children, very childish in character, but this one is taken very seriously and has descriptions of great impact, being the environment very dark throughout history. As you progress, you can see how the Giaks are attacking the population, sometimes you can't do anything.

Walking around just feeling the danger, having to hide and instead of finding refuge, finding more trouble, being cheated, betrayed by people you think you know who they are, is what you will feel when you play this book game. Besides the constant frustration of losing, just finishing the game (something that happened to me). He certainly has it all. I recommend it, you can find it here:
