Before I switch to the subject, I would like to say that in my opinion, no other game can compete in terms of mentality with Ultima Online. So imagine, they managed to integrate the thief character into the game in some way. Since there is already a looting culture in the game, it is not actually your items. The items are everyone's, so if you die, only your panties and your hair will be left. As the name suggests in the game, the character of the thief is to sneak into the inventory of other players and try to steal their belongings. Of course, there are more than one skill to learn. And it requires one of the most difficult to improve skill in the game. Required skills are like that as follows;

- Stealth
Snooping
Snooping 
The snooping ability is needed to open the inventory. So open your Paperdoll by double-clicking on a player you're approaching. (You can do this by clicking on the player 2 times in Peace mode). Then double click on the inventory. The higher the skill, the easier you can open it. But with this skill you can't steal any item from the inventory it's just to check the bag. Stealing the belongings required the Stealing skill.
Snooping seems as Pickpocket on title. Grandmaster means: 100.0 you have on that skill, that is the maximum limit you could reach.
Strategy of Snooping
Always try to open another player's inventory while improve the skill. Note that you are likely to be noticed depending on your skill and stat values when you try to open it. For this reason, it will be safer to have your own character or your friend's character.
Stealing
Stealing The ability to stealing. You can use it to steal items from any other players. From the player you open his bag with the snooping ability, you can steal valuable or worthless items (depending on your preference), use skill-stealing macro, clicking the blue button next to stealing in the skills window, or by dragging it from the skills window You can steal as double-clicking on the stealing tab and selecting the item you want to steal.
There are some risks for you while you are stealing something, such as being noticed and failing, depending on the stat values (mainly DEX stat is the important for thief.) of the person you and your belongings want to steal. When you're spotted, you become a criminal who notices. So, you should watch out for guard zone regions.
Strategy of Stealing:
To steal, open the bag with snooping and use the skill-stealing macro, click the blue button next to stealing in the skills window to select the item you want to steal and you can improve your ability. You can improve comfortably by stealing in a quiet place/home with another player who wants to improve his stealing skill as stealing an item from each other.
The two skill I've been telling so far are the skills that you need to be a thief. In addition, if you want to become a more powerful thief, you can improve also Hiding and Stealth according to your preference.
Briefly, these skills give you a chance to hide yourself for a while. So you can play sneaky sneaky with these skills. But I don't prefer to improve them according to skill cap of the server, some servers are limited with 7 and some of them limited with 8 skills. So sometimes it might be waste of skill cap to improve them. Basically to becoming a thief Snooping and Stealing enough. Hiding and Stealth a kind of fantasy.
