Strategy Game Caster of the Week 7/31

Hello Strategy gaming enthusiasts,

This is the first of iteration of a weekly review of a caster in strategy games. This mostly encompasses RTS and Grand Strategy casters on either Twitch or Voobly. Let me know what you think, and I hope I expose you to some great casters as we go.

The caster of this week is a wee lad who thinks its still 1999 and Age of Empires II is still at the cutting edge of RTS. Somehow, he is right about the second part. AOE2 has gone through a bit of a renaissance lately. There is currently a tournament with a $60,000 dollar prize pool ongoing. Not bad, grandpa, not bad. Catch the Escape Champions League on Twitch.

This caster is noted for trolling community games on Twitch. Subscribers and the general public play an online multi-player game, often with ridiculous settings. A fan favorite is "Forest Nothing," an absurd map where the entire map except for your starting town center is covered with trees and only trees. Players are forced to cut to get the space to build anything. Once they can clear enough space for a market, they will have to sell wood to buy other resources. In AOE2, when you sell or buy a resource the price of the resource will decrease and increase respectively. By the end of the game wood is dirt cheap and everything else is exorbitantly expensive. This caster of the week's hilarious commentary highlights the plain ridiculousness of the scenario. If you are ever unfortunate enough to play Forest Nothing, choose the Celts. Their woodcutting bonus is key to being able to clear space, and sell wood for other resources faster than other players.
