With rumors running wild about a major Diablo announcement or either Diablo 4 or a Diablo 2 remake, we instead got to hear about a pos diablo mobile game that isn't even made by Blizzard. The crowd at Blizzcon was overwhelmingly disappointed. My favorite part was during the question period afterwards, one of the con attendees asking if the announcement was an out of season april fools joke. That was later followed up with someone asking if it would ever be released on PC, when the question was answered with a big no, the developers on stage were showered with a round of boos, then one of the developers said "Don't you all own phones?" What a disaster for Blizzard.
The other announcements were lack luster as well. A remake of Warcraft 3, not evening bothering with an original game for the dying genre. Hearthstone got a new expansion announcement aka something that happens every three months anyways. WoW Classic will come out mid next year aka delayed. And finally it possibly the biggest news of the day Overwatch is getting a new character. Yikes, this does not look great for Blizzard.
I'm sure the company will be fine but I expect a weekend of very pissed off fans at Blizzcon.
