FootballCoin is a Fantasy League football game that has managed to integrate a counterparty token as an in-game currency. FootballCoin is just like any other ordinary Football Fantasy game, however they are the only fantasy game with a real cryptocurrency economy.
The token, XFC, allows you to buy players and trade them online, you can also create contests and charge an entry free so you can compete against friends or other public users.
Because I am always wary of crypto projects I decided to do some research into footballcoin, as it almost sounded too good to be true. It seems, for now, that the company is delivering; they have a fully functioning product that can be played right now.
Nonetheless, I believe there is still some details that need to be improved in order for this token to be a good investment:
- XFC needs to be added to an exchange, currently you can only obtain XFC on the Counterparty DEX which is a real pain.
- In order to be able to scale they need to move from Counterparty into a faster blockchain with lower fees, it could be Ethereum, Bitshares or EOS.
- The game still does not have the “withdraw” function active, which means if you send money to the game you cannot get it out.
