Winner of our Sprue Building contest.

1st place Abraham Marquez

This piece was made from the plastic frames from Games Workshop Miniatures, also known as sprues. September 2020 will be our next sprue contest.

We host a Board Game & Miniature Swap meeting every 3 months in Everett Wa (north of Seattle.) These shows are now averaging 800-1000 people, and 125 vendor tables. Every 3 months we have a contest at our show with a $200 cash pot and 80% of entry fee's.

Dec. 22nd, Unit painting contest
April 2020, Cardboard building contest
July 2020, Single miniature painting contest, Yearly awards date.
September 2020, Sprue Building contest

Yearly awards will be an engraved sword for best overall modeler(all 4 contests), And the best painter (only 2 contest a years) will win an engraved dragon stein.

Have you built something from Sprues? The point of the contest is to use the most expensive plastic you throw away by turning it into something you can use. Also because this gives the lower skilled painters a chance at winning rather then just having 4 painting contests a year. Anyway, send me your pictures if you have made something from sprues, or comment below if our interested in this style of modeling.
You might want to look up "Necron army from sprues" as it was the inspiration for the contest.
