Gunfighter: The Legend of Jesse James, is a shooter video game developed by Rebellion and published by Ubisoft for PlayStation in the year 2001.
The game's plot is set in the american old west. The game's protagonist is Jesse James, an american outlaw who lived in the 19th century.
While Jesse was minding his own business, his girl is kidnapped by a band of no-good outlaw varmints. And you will have to guide the rogue hero as he blasts away at the bad guys who stands in his way while chasing the trail of the captors. Not unlike the plot that you would find in a classic old west movie.
The player must defeat all onscreen enemies in an area in order to move to the next area. The player stays under cover by default and you have to press the action button to emerge and start shooting. while under cover the weapon is recharged automatically.
There's also a timer, and you have to complete the level before the time expires. if you manage to reach a certain part of the level, you will be rewarded with a time extension.
As you advance trough the levels you will usually find regular gunmmen. But sometimes you will find special enemies, like the armored guy who uses a Gatling gun.
Or the tough guy who will try to punch you in the face.
Several mini-games were also added to increase the replay value, those mini-games includes target practice, bottle shooting, and also a recreation of the duel against the final boss, with only one bullet, where the quickest one to shoot wins.
This game is short, you could probably complete it in two hours. but that doesn't makes it less entertaining, i certainly enjoyed it.

La trama del juego está ambientada en el viejo oeste americano. El protagonista del juego es Jesse James, un bandido americano que vivió en el siglo 19.
Mientras Jesse se ocupaba de sus propios asuntos, su chica es secuestrada por una banda de malvados bandidos proscritos. Y tendrás que guiar al pícaro héroe mientras le dispara a los malos que se interponen en su camino y a la vez persigue el rastro de los captores. No muy diferente a la trama que encontrarías en una clásica película del viejo oeste.
El jugador debe derrotar a todos los enemigos que aparecen en pantalla en una determinada área para poder pasar a la siguiente área. El jugador permanece a cubierto por defecto y tienes que presionar el botón de acción para salir y comenzar a disparar. Mientras estas a cubierto, el arma se recarga automáticamente.
También hay un temporizador y debes completar el nivel antes de que expire el tiempo. Si logras alcanzar cierta parte del nivel, seras recompensado con una extensión de tiempo.
A medida que avanzas por los niveles, normalmente encontrarás pistoleros regulares. Pero a veces encontrarás enemigos especiales, como un tipo con armadura que usa una Gatling gun.
O el tipo rudo que tratará de golpearte en la cara.
También se agregaron varios minijuegos para aumentar el valor de repetición, esos minijuegos incluyen prácticas de tiro, disparo de botellas y también una recreación del duelo contra el jefe final, con solo una bala, donde gana el más rápido en disparar.
Este juego es corto, probablemente puedas completarlo en dos horas. Pero eso no lo hace menos entretenido, yo ciertamente lo disfruté.
