Prince was one of the greatest musical artists of his generation. His music set the standard for pop 80s music. If Michael Jackson was the king of Pop, then Price was well ... the Prince of Pop.

His song "The color purple" was a mega hit that established a genre. A love song, a rock anthem, and a pop song all rolled into one. Purple was not just a color any more, it was a sound too. A sound that would bring joy to millions of fans as the purple Prince pumped out song after song.

One of my favorite songs is a lesser known song titled "You can be the presedent, I'd rather be the Pope." This song reminds us that while the Presedent of America may be one of the most important people in the world, the Pope is at another level. Elected for life, he no longer needs to worry about pleasing the voters and can .... times up!
