Not only Assamese, but also in the northeast of Manipur, Meghalaya and Nagaland, fish have been caught using formalin. Most recently, the Nagaland government confiscated a lot of fish with formalin.

However, formalin is still not available in Tripura. A few days ago, Agartala Municipality and State Health Department sent separate samples of fish samples. Laboratory report says that there is no formalin on the fish.
