In a very curious UEFA Champions League final Real Madrid beat Liverpool by 3-1 to win their 3rd consecutive European club title. After the game Los Blancos tallied their Champions League titles to a record 13th time.
Real started with Isco, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema in a 4-3-1-2 formation. In the Liverpool squad there were no surprises also as the Reds started with Salah, Firmino and Mane in a 4-3-3 formation. The game started with a pressure from Liverpool who created a few dangerous chances, who were made by Salah and Mane, but Real keeper Keylor Navas saved them all.
Then Real tried to take matters into their own hands with a few goal opportunities too, but they didn't lead to goal. Then came one of the most deciding moments of the game when Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos tackled Mohamed Salah and the Egyptian picked up an shoulder injury and was substituted with tears in his eyes by Adam Lallana in the 31st minute.
This was a shocker for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp as he lost his most important player. However, in the 37th minute Los Blancos right back Daniel Carvajal also picked up an injury and was replaced by Nacho. The first half ended with no more serious chances created.
Liverpool tried to get out of the shock but a huge mistake by keeper Loris Karius made it easy for Karim Benzema to score a very strange goal in the 51st minute. This made the confusion the red squad even bigger, but they manager to snatch out of it when Sadio Mane equalized the scored 4 minutes later after a corner kick.
Isco got replaced in the 61st minute by Gareth Bale who created an amazing goal after a bicycle kick 3 minutes after he got on the field. Liverpool tried their best to equalize the score once again but things didn't change much. Then came the 83rd minute when a second grave mistake by Karius made the score 3-1 after a shot from outside the penalty area was made into a goal. This destroyed all the chances for Liverpool and Real picked up their 3rd consecutive UEFA Champions League title.
