We stumbled upon this new dish during the breakfast time of our stay in Gokarna, India.
Not sure if this is famous in Mangalore or originated from the coastal city, these were called Banana Bun in the menu card and the hotel guy said it is also known as Mangalore Bun. They were hot similar to Poori but definitely tasted different. It was served with curry and coconut chutney.
It was delicious and unique(different from South Indian delicacies like idly, dosa etc). If you know the reason why it is called 'Mangalore Bun', do let me know in the comments.
