Floriculture is an act of producing ornamental plants or flowers for aesthetic value.It is a branch of horticulture.
The cultural facet in floriculture are:

  • production of cut flowers
  • production of pot plant
  • the growing and raising of flowering bulbs and corms
  • production of bedded plant

TYPES OF ORNAMENTAL PLANTS
We have:

  • hedges plants or flowers:they are found along road,for boundary dermacation and around buildings .examples are hibiscus spp,croton spp,jaxmine spp
  • potted plants or flowers: they are plants inside flower pot.examples are roses,begonia rex,B.cleoptera,calasdium
  • annual flower:they survive in a year
  • lawn or ground cover:lawn is a land planted with ornamental grasses.it could be an open space,around building and football pitch.examples are kenturckey blue grass,
  • trees and shrubs:they are planted for relaxation.examples are flamboyant,frangypany
  • cut flowers:for their foliage
