On December 3, 2017, Chicago-based Flamenco guitarist David Chiriboga conducted a one-hour workshop on the basics of Flamenco guitar, primarily focusing on four common right-hand techniques used to play the powerful rhythms of Flamenco music.
Techniques covered include:
• rasqueado
• abaniko
• alzapura
• rhumba
The workshop occurred prior to a Flamenco concert at St. David's Episcopal Church in Bean Blossom, Indiana, as part of their Bean Blossom Music Series. Also performing in the concert that evening were Luis Beltran (dancer) and Patricia Ortega (singer). A video of the concert is forthcoming, check our channel.
