Steem On-boarding Guide

One of the most annoying parts of Steem are bidbots is the poor on-boarding flow for new users. Aside from the at times slow sign up process because of the manual approval by Steemit Inc, poor on-boarding is something each mayor Steem platform suffers form, especially the text focused ones such as Steemit and Busy.

Steemian @ddrfr33k, has written an excellent post for newcomers on how to navigate Steem, complete with some excellent group projects included.

You're on this awesome site called Steemit. You're kinda dropped into this place without a clue about what's going on, and kinda left to fend for yourself. You kinda feel like this guy:

While Busy.org tries to help users with a list of recommended profiles to follow, there is much more to know about Steem than just who to follow. And Steemit’s FAQ is rather convoluted and too much to read immediately after signing up. Especially when people signed up with the intention to earn.

@ddrfr33k cover most important elements like passwords, what each key is used for, some words around the popular introduction post and then some apps to check out such as @GINAbot, @dLive, @busy.org.

Additionally @ddrfr33k (what DDR? 3? 4? LE???) also guides the users to several communities where new and older Steemians can find support as well as get to know other Steemians.

All in all their post is an excellent intro and something we need more of in the Steem community. At least until somebody has designed awesome on-boarding UX, maybe with some degree of achievements integrated as well as new Steem members navigate their first few weeks on the blockchain and learn about the community, as well as the blockchain itself.

Hop over to @ddrfr33k’s excellent post with on-boarding tips for new Steemians: So you just joined Steemit, Now What?.

Hey there, this is @FknMayhem's alt account.

Here I mostly tumbl (resteem with added commentary and attitude or snark, a form of advanced curation Steem doesn't offer), zapp, post to forums, and submit other miscellaneous mischief. The latter which may or may not include more personal content.

There may be days it can be noisy around here, follow at your own risk. Alternatively, follow my attempts at more in-depth own content on my main account, @FknMayhem.

I am also on zeh Titter. Feel free to pitch me your worthy suggestions there. But make them worth my time, please. A SteemAuto curation trail can be joined here (must be logged in) to support and upvote all great content found and curated.
