I have started the Fordham Fintech Network (FiN), the fintech club at Fordham University (Lincoln Center Campus) in New York City. The mission of the club is to open the students eyes to the opportunity technology is bringing to financial services. Especially in New York City, where there are many startups, innovation labs, and venture capitalists/hedge funds focusing on partnering and evolving their industries. Professionals have been responsive to spreading the message and speaking to the members of FiN. We have had some great guest speakers come in already, such as Kensho and PayPal. We had a tour of Barclay's Rise, the innovation lab and accelerator in partnership with Barclay's.
The point of this post is to spread the word of our presence and ask if there is any suggestions or feedback that would improve our purpose. It has been an amazing first semester and we are looking forward to next semester after winter break.
In addition, we are looking to create a crypotcurrency/ crypto token on Ethereum blockchain for Fordham Campus to be used between students, in the dining services, and in the bookstore. Please comment any suggestions on the right way to set up the foundation of the coin, a platform (wallet) for Fordham students to use it, and an user interface for the coin.
