Seven Pounds (film) : Perhaps Will Smith's finest work

I am one of those people that has a love / hate relationship with Will Smith. I think he has tremendous potential, but he squanders it in a lot of the big money films that he is involved in. Seven Pounds was not a big budget film and I feel as though it is one of Smith's finest performances in his career.

Seven Pounds came to my mind because I recently watched The Pursuit of Happyness and me got me thinking about how Will Smith isn't a shite actor at all but he just sells himself short by starring in absolutely rubbish films like Men in Black, Wild Wild West, and Bright.

He actually is a very capable actor and I would argue that he is one of the best actors alive today, he just can't seem to fine the right films to be in for the most part. There are a few exceptions, and I think that Seven Pounds is a magnificent example of how good Will actually can be.

I don't really want to give away much about this film because to even hint at the plot would likely give away crucial details that it is much better if you just figure out on your own. You wont catch me pushing Will Smith films very often but there are a few out there that are outstanding and this is one of them.

Seriously, if you haven't seen Seven Pounds you really should. It is fantastic and happens to be on Netflix (at least in Asia) at the moment.

I am not a big fan of a vast majority of Will Smith's work and this includes the Fresh Prince days. However, he does have some incredible ability hidden in there and this film is, in my mind, a real showcase of what this man is capable of. I know I recommend a lot of stuff but seriously, if you haven't seen this film, you should do so ASAP.
