A new product of modified tapioca starch from Ingredion has been introduced several years ago. This products is a Hydrofobic and film former size press starch.
The brand name is FilmKOTE, used for some applications :
- Porosity reduction
- Surface strength and printability
- Siliconen Release Paper
- Oil & grease resistance paper
Using this products, rheology extends the limits of runnable viscosity on the size press. If not controlled, upward spits of fluid can occur bar at the size press nip, causig nip rejection-surface formulation becomes un runnable.
