Marvel Has Delayed Their Movies Once Again

Marvel phase 4.jpg

It was obvious that this will happen. The fall season wouldn't be the beginning of recovery for the economy and movies, but the start of the second wave of the pandemic. People just don't feel safe enough to go to the theaters, don't have money, and there are a lot of restrictions on theaters plus theaters are still closed in some parts of the U.S. and the world with no opening date in sight.

Tenet failing at the box office just proved that no big movie can open successfully during the pandemic. From being the movie that saves theaters, Tenet became the movie that proved that no big movie should open anytime soon. Sony announced that they will not release any movie in theater during the pandemic. It is actually a logical conclusion and all companies will probably do the same but more quietly.

As September is coming to an end it is clear that Marvel can't release Black Widow in November. Now the inevitable delay has been confirmed. All of the close Marvel movies have moved one movie forward as only Marvel can do. Since they all got delayed before, now all the movies have their original date, but a year later. Making 2020 our first year since 2009 without a Marvel movie. I am crying on the inside.

Black Widow is now yet again a summer blockbuster which will kickoff summer 2021. It will now be released on May 7, 2021. Hopefully the world will be on the road to recovery by May 2021.

Eternals moved from February 12, 2021 to November 5, 2021. This is cool, it is a November movie with will all of the new characters and no particularly famous actors. The new rumor is that Harry Styles is in this movie which will probably help it in the box office. Along with Black Widow both movies has finished filing and are ready for the big screen.

Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has moved was well. This move makes sense as the movie has just got back to production after a really long pause. The movie will now be release on July 9, 2021. It's too bad that it's not a May movie, but we will see if it will make this date. I hope that it will. It sounds more like an August movie, but we July also works sometimes.

Spider-Man 3 has moved to December 17, 2021. Don't be surprised if it will move again after Sony's statement. Plus, the movie hasn't started production as Tom Holland is now busy filming another movie. So let's call this date flexible at best.

Thor Love and Thunder stay put for February 11 for Valentine's Day - 2022. An excellent date.

Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness stays on March 25, 2020. It should be a May movie in my opinion.

Everyone thinks that everything will be ok by 2021 and I disagree. So I expect things to shift even more as May comes closer.
