Gesehen auf dem Fantasy Filmfest 2017.
Respekt für diesen Film. Er schafft es seine Story durchzuerzählen ohne zu viel Bullshit links und rechts und ohne Längen. Ein so angenehmes Pacing ist heutzutage eine Seltenheit.
Chip lebt den gehobenen White-Trash-Trailerpark-Lifestyle und hat zudem ein Händchen für extrem heiße aber auch extrem verrückte und manipulative Frauen, die ihn ordentlich in die Scheiße reiten. Es ist genau wie sein Arbeitskolege am Anfang sagt; der Ursprung aller Probleme ist auf eine Sache zurückzuführen "that sweet pussy".
Der Regisseur ist riesiger Filmfan und auch den Pulpromanen und Heftchen nicht abgeneigt. Man findet ähnlich wie bei Tarrantino unzählige Homagen an andere Filme, die durchaus gut gemacht sind und nicht zu sehr "in your face" daherkommen.
Bei seinen Charakteren hat sich Trent Haaga jedoch, seiner Aussage nach, nicht zwingend von Filmen inspirieren lassen sondern das echte Leben als Vorlage genommen. Er selber ist in einem Trailerpark aufgewachsen und sagt, was für uns überzogen und Comedy ist, findet man in den Wohnwagensiedlugen im Süden der USA tagtäglich. Zudem ist, zumindest in Haagas Filmwelt, Chip quasi ein Repräsentant für ihn selber und seine schräge Lebensgeschichte.
Mehr davon! Vom Trailerpark nach Hollywood, oder zumindest in den Independet-Trash-Himmel.

Respect for this movie.
It manages to tell a straight story without length and no bullshit left and right. Such a good pacing is rare today.
Chip is living the advanced white-trash-trailerpark-lifestyle. He also has luck with extremely hot but also extremely crazy women. Like his co-worker is saying to him, that all problems got back to one thing -> "that sweet pussy".
The director is a huge film enthusiast and also a reader of pulp books. Like with Tarantino you can find countless nods to other movies. They're well made and not to much "in your face".
It's different with the writing of his characters. Trent Haaga claims, that they are mostly inspired by real life, even his own. He grew up in a trailer park himself and the stuff that seems like over the top comedy for us, was just reality for him and pretty common in the trailer parks of the south.
In Haags film-reality Chip is inspired by him and his strange life.
I'll definitely see more of it! From the trailer park to Hollywood, or at least to the independent trash heaven.
